Hey everyone,

My name is Jason and I am relatively new to this forum. Have been on socalireefs for a while.

I just relocated to the Phoenix area.

I have been breeding clownfish for about a year (originally had a 100g reef tank but the breeding was taking up to much of my time so I broke it down)

I currently have 6 pairs and just built a new system to house them after my move.

The system is around 150g consisting of 6 20g tanks plumbed into a 30g sump. I run a reef octo nwb skimmer, bio pellet reactor, and mag9 return pump. Each tank has a 1" drain which goes into a 2" manifold, 3 tanks per shelf with independent drain manifolds. Return is a 1" pipe split on two levels with ball valves on each tank to make adjustments.

This was my most involved plumbing job I have done to date and a I am pretty proud of the outcome :-)

Here is a pic of some baby Solomon Islands Onyx I have in Growout here shortly.

I will most likely end up becoming a sponsor once I have some clowns old enough to sell.

I am located in Goodyear

Very nice, Reefstew supplies most of the valley with his clowns! Always impressed and want to breed (for fun) but no time. Just nice to have a system with all clowns :) welcome!

Welcome!!! I always liked to by fish from private breeders vs LFS.. Seems most breeders now just sell to LFS and sometimes the quality is not the same IMO. Hope to see a batch for sale soon :

Thanks everyone, my plan is to sell on the forums and the rest will go to some wholesale contacts I have, I am aware Bob has it pretty locked up around here, nice guy though :-)

With regards to heat, I have an ac unit and a monster 1hp Current USA chiller on standby ;-)

Just a heads up, you will not be allowed to sell your clownfish on reef central.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted. What other clownfish pairs do you have?

Even sponsors are not allowed to sell fish?

Yup not even sponsors can sell cb clownfish. Here is a link to all of the rules on buying and selling- http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2227869&highlight=price

Just to step in and clear any confusion. We have started allowing hobbyists to sell/trade a limited amount of their offspring. Its best for anybody thinking of doing that to read the stickied rules so you're clear on how it works.

Obviously somebody who already has wholesale contacts is not merely a hobbyist experimenting. So no, currently you may not engage in any selling or trading (that includes all selling/trading, not just your clownfish). So any discussion of your breeding efforts needs to remain completely educational in nature. If you were to step up to becoming a site sponsor part of the package would include a sponsor forum which is where you would sell/trade/advertise. :)
