In the last week I have noticed an overabundance of rust colored flower-like critters. At first I didn't think they were "critters" but upon closer inspection I noticed when I cleaned them off the glass they swam about in the water column. They are covering everything from live rock to corals to substrate! They are easily cleaned from the glass. I was looking at them with a magnifying glass and one of them was creeping along the substrate when it encountered a copepod and it looked like the "critter" jumped back! I need to figure out what they are so I can get rid/drastically cut back on them as they are covering everything!!
My pic I just posted is probably not what anyone really wants to see! I just realized that I have to compress all of my photos before I can post them. Now that it has taken me over an hour to figure out how to do the first one the next dozen should go pretty quickly, except for the fact that I have to go to bed now, I have a twelve hour shift tomorrow.

After you told me what they were I googled "flatworms" and read the article you suggested!! I will certainly be careful. Perhaps tomorrow i can vacuum the majority out an treat Monday as nothing is open in my town on Sundays...Bible Belt you know. Thanks again.

They can smother corals, etc etc. They can also be toxic.
