howdy all,
just a lil info. i live in tucson AZ, and ive kept freshwater for roughly 7 years. mixed reef for about two ( lps and softies ) and i manage a LFS. mainly freshwater but about 1000 gallons of salt also. I have been inspired by sps tanks for years now and thus have been researching for quite some time. but their is quite some diff between research and first hand experience. i live in an apartment currently, w / utilities paid =)~ mwahah. so space is limited and i want to set up a tank. and heres what i was thinking.
tank: 40g breeder ( 36 x 18 x 16 H ) center overflow box 1" drain, 3/4" return.
sump: 20-37g depends on what i can fit. I have yet to find a custom acrylic shop that can make one to my needs and in AZ.
skimmer: ASM G-2 or Euroreef RS100 i have yet to find many reviews on either skimmer. your input?
lighting: 36" fixture. 250w HQI 10k, 2 x 96w 460nm actinic, 4 lunar
water movement: i really like the tunze 6060 but at 1500 would 2 be way to much? with return pump it would put me over 125x per hour. other then that there is the nano stream 6045. or is it best to save my pennies and get the controlled streams?
