New to SPS

Have a staghorn greenish blue near the top of the water. It is under a 6 bulb t-5 Aquaticlife system. Was a small branch 6 months ago, now has like 30 branches. Grows incredible. Have done great with that, can anyone recommend another sps for me to try under that lighting. Have also had a clam in there for over a year, and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for your time.

You should be able to keep just about any sps under your lighting.I would try an ORA coral since they have a great track record in captivity.I suggest an ORA red planet or pink milli.both are beautiful corals with nice growth and color.

Staghorn corals predominate the upper regions of most reefs in the wild. The fact that yours is growing well is proof that you've got enough lighting. I would second some of the ORA pieces as well. They tend to be very hardy and good in captive environments.

When I first got into SPS I wasn't quite ready for the calcium and alkalinity demand they require. My advice is to have a plan set up for when these beautiful colorful sticks start pulling your parameters down.

Congratulations and welcome to the club. It's a shame you couldn't run and get away while you still had the chance....

ORA or if you can get some tank raised frags locally that might be a good idea as well. at this point you should probably stay away from any wild colonies fragged up as they're more tempermental
