New to the Area

Hello All,

I'm new to the area and am looking for a LFS that has great quality stuff at a decent price and isn't too far of a drive for me. Also, I know it would be rare, does any LFS around offer financing?

I'm located in Selinsgrove (17870)...about 15 minutes south of Lewisburg on route 15.

I hope you guys can help me out...

Travis

Welcome to Selinsgrove. Something Fishy (toofishy.com) is about a 2 hour drive from Selinsgrove but well worth the trip. Check their website for directions.

I am about 1 hour away from you. We have one LFS in Pottsville that carries salt water fish and corals but his selection is very limited. However, he does custom orders and most people buy their fish right when it comes in, before it hits his tanks. I don;t know about financing. I doubt it.

I am kind of in the middle of redoing my basement and setting up a new aquarium. I sold my old one before I moved from Ohio.

Here's a pic of my mixed reef:

The only stuff I kept from it was the lighting, skimmer, live rock and some other hardware. One place that I have been to around here is That Fish Place. I liked the equipment selection...but that was about it.

Thanks for this info so far...keep it coming!

Hey Travis,
I live about 10 min. from you in Winfield.
Its pretty hard to find anything decent within an hrs drive. As you said........TFP is O.K. for equipment.I have had good luck with fish and coral from them and the prices are pretty good.
There is a pet store in Sunbury that has a *small* salt section. 1 show tank.......eye candy, but not for sale, 1 coral/frag tank, and maybe 10-20 small tanks with fish/inverts . Its good if you need a "fix", but there prices are insanely expensive.
In Bloomsburg, you have Millers Reef. Its about an hrs drive and worth it. They are located on Rt.11. Its pretty much a salt only shop. Lots of tanks with great livestock, and pretty good prices to boot. Decent selection of fish, corals and inverts. All in good looking shape. They always have lots of live rock with good prices. The owners are knowledgeable and are great to talk to. Here is a link........

Everything else is about 2 hrs drive. There are some good swaps that happen around the area.......I havent had the time to make it to any yet! But hopefully I will soon.
Let me know if you need anything.........good luck.
Later.........Herbie
