New to the Denver Area

Hello Everyone,

First of all I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Jon and I'm a recent transplant to Colorado from Ohio. I just graduated from The Ohio State University in June and was one of the lucky ones to land a job right out of college here. I dont know a single person out here so I thought this would be a great place to start. I've been involved with the hobby since high school where I started out working at Ohio largest saltwater store. I've had a few tanks, the last being a 90 gal. I had in college. I currently dont have a tank now but have been seriously thinking about setting one up here. It would be great to get to know some of the fellow reefers here and know the ins and outs of some of the LFS in the area.

Welcome to Colorado... indeed the winters here ar much nicer than back in Ohio. I don't miss the sleet and ice storms in Cincinnati.

There are a couple of very active groups here with lots of great folks. We have our meeting next Saturday. It's a great opportunity to see some great tanks.

The Colorado Springs folks meet on the 22nd. I think it's at one of the many coral farmers that live down there.

We also have a meeting in Highlands Ranch at Cris Capps house for MASC (another Denver club). Cris' 300 reef was TOTM a couple of years ago on RC.

What area of town have you settled in? I'm sure lots of folks would be more than happy to give suggestions on helping you stock your new tank, or even sell you a used one.

So after a weekend of thought and a trip to the Denver Aquarium a few weeks ago I really want to get back in it. I'm in the hunt for a new tank. Size doesnt really matter but would like to stay in the 75-100 range. If any one has a nice used setup or know someone who has please drop me a line!!

I'm located in Greeley and would need some assistance with moving the tank. Both man power and a vehicle.

Welcome Jon, As a Colorado native I am most likely very biased in my opinion that Colorado is the best place to live in this country.
What are your other interests/hobbys?
If you have extra time I recommend heading to Estes Park over the next moth or so, this time of year the mountains are incredible and the elk are very active.
Let us know what tank you settle on,
Chris
