yea waverz makes newbies drive 2 hours to pick up lights that he buys:)

I did too, i told him i was going to charge him a dollar per gallon of RODI water if he didn't get them for me.

BTW: Dave you got PM

Speaking of RODI. Are you using RO water on your tank Ben? If not that's def. one thing you'll want to be checking into. If you don't know what this is ASK and we'll point you in the right direction.

Sounds like you have your way off to a good start. There's a lot of great people in this group and we're all more than willing to start.

Again welcome aboard!!!

hey, im not going to lie.

i first started with a 20L and for this tank i got all rodi water, this tank cycled and then i just..decided to use this 55 i had (previously for freshwater...i cleaned it really well, dont worry anyone)

i used the water from the 20 and i used tap for the rest... however i learned my lesson after a major diatom bloom (some people told me it was probably from using tap)

anyways, i changed some of the water, and since have been topping with rodi and water changing with rodi... things have been fine since then.

so, yeah... i have been using it, but i started it with tap. im an idiot. thanks for mentioning it though!

oh, btw... this smiley is AWESOME --> :strooper:

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum also. I'm heartben's girlfriend, so all the info about my setup will be the same since we sort of co-own everything. I'm mostly here to read and learn stuff and keep up with the progress of our tank. From what I've read so far, you guys are super helpful, so keep it up! And of course, let either of us know if you have any awesome advice or sweet free or cheap stuff for us to help us get started.:)

I'd also like to say welcome. I'm kind of new to the board as well and my hat is off to all the mentors here. They have really helped me with the progression of my 55 gallon setup. The only advice I have is to be patient, be careful choosing your live stock and don't impulse buy.

Hay bro you might want to have that R/O water checked. I got some R/O from emporium and had it checked and it tested out about the same as regular tap water. They might have changed this has been a few months ago but I would still check it out.

i also wanted to let everyone know - i posted a few pictures of the fish, i have more pictures i just havent resized them and all that jive. i will post more probably today or tomorrow though!
