New to the hobby, could use some help

Ok so I bought a used 34G Solana Aquarium (All in one model) on Craigslist for $250. It came with a AquaC Remora Skimmer with maxi jet 1200 pump. I also got a 150w Eheim Jäger heater. Came with about 35+ Of live rock and live sand. Also came with a Yellow-Tail Blue Chromis and rose bubble tip anemone and some zoas. And for circulation I have 2 koralia 425 nano power heads. Now this is my second day with the tank and some of my zoas are not opening up or some not fully opened. Is this because I leave the skimmer on all the time? I kept 50% of the previous owners water and I mixed the rest of the water. (I used reef crystals salt mix which also came with the tank). So what do you guys think what might be wrong with my Zoas? I'm new to reefcentral.com too by the way

welcome to rc! you should be fine running the skimmer all the time, the only time i might turn it off is when I'm feeding or taking pics. make sure you mix the salt over night with a limewood airstone to oxygenate it. As long as your temp, s.g., calc., kh, mag., and ph are on point then you should be fine. One of the number one rules in this hobby is to take your time and research everything before you get it. For your sake and the fishes and corals sake!
