I have a 110 rr tank with 11 fish (relatively small). 200+lbs lr. many softies and some lps.
i am interested in the tunze 9010. have read some of the threads and am not completely following. first of all i want to place the skimmer in my sump (oceanic series 2). the main reason for the interest in this skimmer is its size as i need to fit it into a 11x6 space. wondering what the pros and cons of this skimmer.
also have noticed that people mention the foam extractor addition to the skimmer. wondering what is the purpose of this and if it is a necessity.
basically want to know if this skimmer is worth the money, and what is recommended to use this skimmer in my sump (water level is about 5-6''.
thanks in advance for all the info

Also looking for the cheapest place to purchase these skimmers

It sounds like you want the advise of unbiased hobbyists but, I do use the skimmers myself and can answer some of your questions. The 9010 will work well in your application. It will fit. The foam extractor allows you to forego a cup and just drain the skimmate into a large bucket, it also allows you to open the venturi further and increase the skimming power. It is not necessary, everything you need comes with the skimmer.
