New Tunze Nano not working

I bought the Nano Osmolator brand new last week. It sorta worked for a few days but now the water level is well below the float valve it it is not filling. I have added the shim between the magnet and glass as suggested in other threads, with no effect. If I unplug it and plug it back in it runs for a second and turns off. This is on a Bio Cube 29 with the reservoir sitting in the stand on the bottom shelf. What am I missing? Is this just a defective purchase?

Does it top off if you unplug it and plug it back in? If so it is likely just the timer, by default it is only suitable for tanks up to 25 gallons, bigger than that and you need to extend the timer as shown on pages 26 and 27 of the manual. It has a safety timer and after the pump runs 1.8 continuous minutes it shuts down and can only be reset by cycling the power. This can and must be extended to 3 minutes on larger tanks.

No it does not top off by unplugging and plugging back in. When I do that I hear the pump click on for a second but not any longer. With water displacement by rock and sand I believe there is roughly 25 gallons in this tank. I am wary of extending the timer due to its small capacity and the increased risk of altering salinity should the switch fail, which it appears to already be malfunctioning.

OK, that sounds like a faulty pump, if you PM me your info we can get a replacement out.
