I was wondering if anyone had any luck/experience pairing Lotilia graciliosa with another Lotilia graciliosa. I currently have a small .75" specimen with a pistol shrimp and was hoping to pair another one with it.

any thoughts? here is a blurry pic of my pair

i went ahead and added the other whitecap goby. they have not met yet. both are eating and have been in captivity for over 6 months. here is a picture of the new addition.

You might want to check out this article:

Google: Lotilia klausewitzi

the pair still have not met from what i can see. the pistol shrimp does have an extensive cave system in the tank and traveled over to the new larger goby. the goby started acting like they were partners and then 30 minutes later i saw the shrimp had traveled back to the other goby.

ya i saw that article regarding the new scientific name for the fish Lotilia klausewitzi. the ones that were available to me supposedly came from Sri Lanka.

it looks like all the ones that have been available for sale from liveaquaria, etc have been Lotilia klausewitzi. the ones that were pictured in the red sea were all Lotilia graciliosa.

the two finally found each other and now live in the same cave with the shrimp. so far no aggression at all.

here is a picture of the two together. they have been hanging out in front of their cave since last night. have not seen any aggression yet. sorry for the blurry pics. its really hard to get a pic because they are pretty far under a rock. even with my dslr i cant get the lens to focus.

so far so good, both look comfortable together with the pistol shrimp in their cave. they rarely leave each others side.

update guys.
this afternoon the larger white cap started chasing the smaller one around so I removed the smaller one and put it in another nano.
i dont know if you can sex Lotilia sp.

ya after doing some extensive googling and contacting a couple of others that have tried...this seems to be the norm when trying to pair these fish. in the wild they probably just live close by and come together to breed.
