I just picked this guy up from the airport. He was picking at the side of the bucket so i fed him a few mysis and he ate them as fast as i put them in.Just a beautiful fish and wanted to share. A special thanx to Matt at Austin Aqua Farms for this beauty.

Good to hear all is well and she did so well with shipping! Now how about that serpentine goby or the pair of conspics???

Drooling!!! Very jealous. Great fish. I just met Matt and seems like a great source for great fish. I have been keeping fish for decades and just found out about austinaquatics. Definately check them out, they have some of the real hard to get stuff without the LA prices.

How big is the Wrought and what temp.? are going to be keeping the fish at? Hopefully your aware that they need sub-tropical water temps to thrive. Other than that they are bullet proof as far as butterflys go. The fact that he ate during acclimation shows both a hardy fish and great care from the provider. Great luck with him and keep the pics coming!!!! What are you keeping him with? Regards, Tim

Myerst,
He is in a tank that is at 78 and he is 4" snout to tail. If i see any signs of distress at this temp i have plenty of other options for him. He is in a tank with a pair of conspics...a pair of tinkers....a pair of emps...a clarion...goldflake and quite a few others. I am well aware of the husbandry of the fish and will do whatever is necessary to keep him happy.
Matt...the serpentine goby is awesome. Keep
me updated on the interruptus as well please. I forgot about the bandit...he is doing well and just took some mysis. Perfect size on that one. Next is a pic for you Matt.
Thanx for the compliment reeferaddiction.

For a while I didn't even notice the rock, too busy staring at all the amazing fish! Quite a collection you have there!

Thanks Tim, I appreciate the kind words! Just to clear things up though, its Austin Aqua Farms.

Hey Matt,
The b'fly is taking flake food from my fingers. It eats anything i put in the tank. So far no aggression from anyone. Thanx again for the hook up!

Again very jealous. What size display do you have? I just got my male crosshatch, big deal i might as well of gotten a domino damsel. Definately one of those fish that are far better in person than pics show. You have the ultimate in person fish that can only be truly appreciated in person, Especially the Conspiculatus and Wrought. Congrats on that great fish and I hope to get a Conspic one day. How did your conspics. acclimate? How big are they? How long did it take to get them to start eating? Man just tell me everything about your experience from day one!!!!!! Regards, Tim

Myerst,
There are in a 300 at the moment. I was having a 10x4x4 built and the company went belly up. Matt is helping me out with my new one. First let me say they conspics and the emps were not collected as a pair. The emps i got lucky with and the conspics i got a male first and he is about 5ish" and i found the small female at about 3" and they have got along since day one. My tinkers were the only fish that was collected as a pair. I have not had one issue with getting the conspics to eat. They eat anything and everything and have since day one.I push the limits as to what fish "can or should" be together. Besides what you see there is a blueline angel...asfur...chrysurus...regal...singapore...clarion....queen....lemonpeel hybrid...declivis b'fly and a few smaller angels and i have no issues. The majority has been together for years and grown together so that may have helped but anytime i have added someone new the others really didn't care. I probably spend more on fish food than i do to feed myself. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Well on I'm on the same page as you on a much smaller degree. i have a Tinker's, X-mas Emp, Black Tang, Crosshatch, Melenarus and Millaris eels, Borbonius, and a Rhinopias. I really want a Conspic and feel Austin is by far the best way to go to get one from the research I have done. You must have some serious filtration and water change schedule. Please if you could what is your setup and maitenence schedule like. As far as a food source i have been using Waikiki Aquarium's gel based home made fish formula which they feed almost all of their stock with great success. One of the best things i have learned in many years, Again continued success with your great stock and keep the pics coming!!!! Tim

So how many large angels all together in there? 16? I would love to see some more pics of those fish! Especially the blueline....never seen half of the fish you have in person.

Nocturnal,
The only way i can tell is males have an elongated body and females are rounder and fuller. It's hard to tell when they are on the smaller side but if you get to see enough of them in person you can tell pretty easily.
