May be some one can answer this for me since we are new to this.
We recently purchased a pulsing xenia from our lfs, unfortunatly the person we delt with was new to the store. When taking the frag out of the tank it was exposed to the air and the bag did not have enough water to cover the coral. I asked and was told it would be okay. We have the xenia in our tank for a week now and it is a purlple green colour with large sores on the trunk. Our water tests are all 0, our nitates are at .9, (our leather is doing well) but the test from the lfs bag came in with nitrates at almost .80.
I have been reading what everone is saying about these corals, some say they like high nitrates, others say they are not good? have we done something wrong or Im I correct in thinking that part of the problem is in the transportation.
Any help is appreciated.
