A reefer gave me a zoa frag , it is the original jp bowser , but it don't want to open at all. All my others zoas are doing great . Before i put it in my tank i did a dip with coral rx. It was in my tank for 3 days and still not opening. Then i did a fresh water dip yesterday and today it is still not opening.

I haven't owned that one before but if there's nothing wrong with it then leave it alone for a while. One of my colonies didn't open for the first week in my tank. It looks close to a bloodshot but it isn't. That same colony is quick to close up from any stress for 1-3 weeks. Hopefully your bowser isn't that temperamental!

Freshwater dips are stressful IMO but you've made sure there is no parasites.

So that mean some zoas will not open that easy

yes, some will take longer, sometimes a lot longer, to open after shipping/fragging stress as well as other factors. I have a small colony of gorilla nipples my blenny ****ed off and they have been closed for 2 weeks now. A few other varieties are the same way but dont stay closed as long.

As long as they dont completely melt away, they should eventually open back up.

That looks to have quite a bit of film algae growing on it which is not a good sign... it looks stressed from the fragging.

Try dipping it using an iodine based dip, like lugols or Seachem reef dip.

I went to the lfs today to buy Lugols and furan 2, but too bad it was too late. Came home around dinner time and the zoa frag was already gone. I have waited too long. :(

i have a frag of 3 for almost a month now, and one of the 3 just opened up for the first time last night! somethimes they just take a good while. all your params can be 100% perfect, good depth, good lighting, still doesn't matter, they are going to do what they want to do. i didn't worry about mine, i wouldn't worry too much about yours. if they start getting "slimy" or "melting", then worry.

They are melted away.
