New Zoas - ID please

Check out the new zoa colony I got. I bought it for $40 at the LFS. Did I get a good deal? Can anyone ID them?

I have a couple sets of those in my tank. The ones with the red centers ive heard them being called Watermelon crazies or something like that. Im rough with names so dont quote me. I would say its a decent deal. Later Ryan

They are Eagle Eyes and a nice sized colony too.;)
It looks like there is another morph mixed in with them as well.
The EE's will eventually squeeze them out of the colony.

Well, from the looks of the 1st, 2nd photo and the last one, it looks like 4 different types of Zoas.

Yep, looks like Radioactive Dragon Eyes, Possibly Ring of Fire and no idea what the last ones are.
Again, the EE's will eventually squeeze them out.

Looks like you paid a fair price for a nice colony of Eagle Eyes.

Mine are the hardiest and easist to frag zoos in my tank. They have done well for me in all of my tanks with lights ranging from 18 W to 80 W and temps ranging from 74 to 82 degrees.

Enjoy!

Would you say that he can start separating each colony? How long before he can do that? He has a decent amount of each type.

Thanks for the help! When you say that the Eagle Eyes will squeeze them out, do you mean that they will kill them or physically push them out of the colony?

They can push them out, but usually the losing colony literally shrinks and eventually dies.

I would probably do this sooner then later. A credit card, razor, towel, face mask, rubber gloves, frag rocks and super glue are the tools you'll need. I sometimes opt for the chisle and hammer approach, but those look seriously intertwined.

You can find an excellent article of zoaid for fragging zoas. It's pretty much the same approach. Here is the article:
