Newb 40g starting out

Hi, have been researching a saltwater setup for a long time and finally ready to take the plunge.
So far I have decided on the Cobalt c-vue 40g tank
FOWLR setup to begin and later maybe some sp etc.

Is there a good top/canopy with led light day/night that would fit the c-vue?

Do I need a skimmer surface or protein? If so any skimmers that can fit inside the sump of c-vue?

Will get live rock from lfs unless anyone can recommend a reputable online store.

What would be a good cleaner pack to get?
Any beginner recommended fish and how many max can fit in the tank? ( i wouldnt want to spend all this money and be able to hold only 3-4 fish in the 40g)

Thank you for your help

Start with reading the Stickys in this forum and others. Lots of great info for beginners.

Tank stand/canopy? Not sure about that tank/brand, but get some measurements. I custom built mine.

A skimmer is not a requirement, but does effectively help with filtration and keeping the water clean.

Live rock from your LFS will be fine. Online dealers are out there and among the top is TampaBaySaltwater.com

Cleaner pack is simply a variety of snails and crabs. Red, Blue leg hermits, Turbo Snails are among the most common.

Depending on the type of fish you choose, 3-4 might be all that safely survive.

I'm looking at the Fluval SEA Marine & Reef 3.0 LED light - would that fit on the c-vue 40g?
What about if I removed one of the panels from the top glass cover?

Skip the skimmer for now. Currents Orbit marine is a good light starting out. Pretty inexpensive with a nice remote and pre-programed modes. Grew SPS very well for me in a 40b.
