Newb at NPS, what are some good ones to start with?

I had never been into NPS that much but the bug has finally bit me. Also i finally got a skimmer that can handle all the food i throw in the tank so was thinking of getting some more nps since i can now feed them as often as i like and not worry about water quality. I purchased a frag of Tubastrea aurea and love it! What would you recomend i get next?

No matter how good your skimmer is you always have to worry about water quality... but that aside a good one to try next would be dendrophyllia. Or, add some black tubastrea to contrast what you have now, it will look sweet.

heck man.. go all out and get that blueberry gorgonian you know you want and try to
keep it alive for more then a year! ;-)

My vote is also for Dendrophyllia or Tubastrea. Try them for awhile to make sure you are willing to make the constant-feeding commitment. If you lose interest in keeping these corals, it's unlikely you'll ever keep up with the other more demanding corals. Dendros and Tubastreas are more forgiving and, if happy will grow noticeably and add huge splashes of intense color.

+1 It takes dedication to feeding. Start with them and make sure your up to the challenge. watch out it's addicting!

How often are you willing to feed? Bigger polyped gorgonians such as Menella sp. might be an option.

I say i don't need to worry about water anymore because i use to have a crudy sapphire skimmer but now i upgraded to a Reef Octopus rated for 260g on my 40g tank at least i don't worry as much as before.

Im getting sucked in the different colored tubastrea and dendrophyllia thats out there. I read a lot this weekend and with my schedule figured the corals with bigger polyps that like meaty food would be better for me. I don't think i can get my hands on a constant supply of phyto, since i live in costa rica my options are very limited (LFS here kind of suck). As far as feeding goes, i feed Rod's about 3 times a day.

I just realized i can get marine snow, would that be a good option?
