I'm having trouble deciding on a 10 gallon nano or a 20 long. I have the 10 gallon and the 20l is for sale on craigslist already setup. Wondering if there is something wrong with the 20's system. He hasn't returned any emails so I don't know anything.

The more water vol the better IMO. LMK if the 20 does not happen. I most likely have some stuff to get you started.

I had a lot of difficult times with my 20L. Mostly that it has a high evaporation rate since it is not a lot of water and a large water surface. My 10g tanks were even worse in so many ways. I love my 20L but I would never have an actual 10g reef again unless as a last resort.

20L is an excellent starter tank. It don't cost to much being smaller. It has enough room to work with. Water evaporation is the only issue and this can be fixed via glass top. A 10 gallon can be a ticking bomb and can have major parameter swings if not well maintained.

Thanks for the reply guy's That is really nice Bart. I'll give this guy a little more time to get back to me. If not then I'll get with you and see what we can work out and start me a list. Been reading up forums for weeks. My family thinks I've abandoned them. I had a 29g sw years ago and seeing a nano a couple of months ago got me going again. Any members in Cookeville?

I used to be in the cookeville area although I am not anymore....lindsey pickupman66 is located in winchester and some in Lebanon. East Tennessee has some members out of knoxville and oak ridge.

For those of you reefers about to "rock"- we salute you ;)

Keep your 10 gallon for a sump. I'd also suggest a 20G over a 10G as your display. 10G is very difficult to get (and keep) stable - at least it was for me! You might check Craigs List for tanks for sale in your area. And there are typically tanks and other equipment for sale by club members here at MTRC.

Great!! I just bought a 20l from a guy in bone cave. South of Sparta Tn. for $10. Had to drive 40 miles, but hey,for 10 bucks plus a whisper hob filter. It has had reptiles in it before. You can see the scratches on the inside but I think it'll be ok. I'll clean it up with vinegar 2morrow. Hey Jenn, I'm from Sparta originally too. Love your avatar.
