I am in the process of setting up a 44g hex, and I am really considering getting some Sea Horses. I am very new to sea horses and I only know stuff from working being at pet stores and listening to people talk about them. What would be the best way to set the tank up, and what species of corals fishes sponges and inverts are safe with them. Any info would be helpfull, and if any one has a 44g hex set-up for sea horses, please post pics so i can get ideas. Thanks in advance, Jeremy

Mate, IMO go for a species specific tank only.

Seahorses are a slow fish and easily stressed, so, till you have experiance with horses, go for them alone.

Remember that seahorses have a tail that soon as it touches something, it will curl around it and they will hang on, so anything that you have in the tank must be seahorse friendly, as in, no stinging things, no ananomies etc.

A 44 gall will make a ripper seahorse tank.

44g hex Will make a great seahorse tank. Just make low flow areas. Softies work well with seahorses. I recommend H. Erectus as a good starter seahorse.
