hey guys, im in the process of getting my first saltwater set up and im trying to get as much info as possible. So far, ive got my sand and water in, just waiting in on the LR and for the tank to settle in and cycle. Its a 100 gallon, 6 feet long, 18 tall, and 18 wide. I have 2 T5 fixtures running across the tank, each one holding 2 bulbs. So technically, i have 2 strips of T5's running through the length of my tank. Then, i also have this 30 inch fluorescent bulb on there too which im doubting that i'll need. I know its not enough for an awesome reef, but im starting off with a FOWLR for now until i gain some exp, then upgrade equipment and what not for a reef ready tank. here are some pictures:
Alright, so now i was wondering what bulbs i should be looking at to get a nice blue-ish bright light? I was thinking of doing one 10,000k strip across, and an atinic strip. What about the flourescent? Should i use that at all or just chuck it? Thanks for your help guys! Ill be starting a build thread soon (hopefully by sunday).
