Newbie with problems...SHOCKER!!!

I have just begun my installation and I have encountered a couple of problems that I can't seem to resolve. I'm having network problems and display problems. My setup consists of the Apex Lite controller with two EB8's, two displays, one PM1 and a breakout box. My network equipment consists of a Netgear WNR3500L router and a Netgear WNCE2001 wireless game controller. At this point I believe I need to resolve my network issues before I try and work on the one display that has gone blank.

First off, yes I have been reading the unofficial manual and reading posts on this board. From what I have been able to determine it sounds like I need to refresh the software on the display with the problems but before I would be comfortable doing that I need to fix my network issues.

When I first connected my apex to the wireless game controller everything was working just fine. I could go to the address bar and type in http://apex and it would go right into my apex. I began doing my basic programming of my system this way and all was well. I then began the process of setting up the dyndns account and started messing around with creating a static IP for my Apex and doing some port forwarding within the router and after this things started to go south. Now when I look at my "attached devices" on my router the apex has two IP Addresses. One is the one that I set on the Apex unit when I turned of DHCP and the other one is from who knows where. In addition to this the game controller doesn't show a WAN connection anymore. If I take the game controller and connect it to my laptop I get a good LAN and WAN connection so its not a hardware problem with my game controller. I believe that I have screwed up something in my router so when ever I connect the Apex it's going to have problems. I can connect to the apex by using the ip address but only some of the time and I loose the connection.

At this point I'm about to take my router and reset the whole thing and try and rebuild everything. Does this sound like the right approach? Any suggestions???

Thanks...Scott

Wow all the solutions is just incredible, I don't know where to begin....:hmm2:

I upgraded my firmware on my router and all seems to be working with my network.
