Here is a pic after the first day of work. The stand is 42" high & will be part of the "wall." I will continue to update my progress.

This is a pic of the room next to it. I am going to have 1/4" tubing extend from this RODI over to my sump with a Liquid Level Control to top-off evaporation.

looks good. I'll be watching wth intrest as I plan on doing a similar type install in my basement over the winter months.

Looks Awesome.. I've never heard the thing about treated wood either I wonder if that's why the 90g stand I built isn't square anymore?

treated lumber is so compacted with chemicals when they dry out the wood shrinks, and when it gets cold it expands,
Im a builder of new homes and have seen some crazy warping with treated luber. I know you must have seen a deck with a board tweeked out of place. I once had a home owner put scrap 2x8 treated in the wallbefore drywall to have a solid spot to hang towel bars. I told him that it was a bad idea and he diddn't belive me A few weeks later it bowed the drywall for a few days and went away, a week or 2 later it bowed again and cracked the drywall tape seam.
treated lumber just reacts to much to outside conditions I'd never use it on anything id personally have plus its dangerous to your health

looks great so far. :D

If you have pressure treated to protecte against water dammages, you can just throw a couple layers of varnish on there.

ITs not for sure going to happen too you but the chances are high, I'd add whatever metal straps you could find to it like L brackets and such, but make sure if you used ACW treated lumber to use hot dipped brackets or stainless steel ones. If you used ACQ wood and didn't use the right screws for the wood your screwed! literally, this wood will rott in 1-3 months
this new ACQ wood that they switched over to is a real pain in the ...

Instead of starting over....take some 1/2" (5/8-3/4) plywood and wrap the stand...use glue (make sure the glue you use will work on that wet stuff). HTH John

check the tags on the wood see if it says acq on it, if so I'd for sure remove the screws you used and get some made for acq lumber, I went to a seminar on it and they showed the effects of noraml screws, not good.
THe reason why it happens is they treat the new acq treated lumberwith a copper based solution and copper reacts with most metals, that reaction causes the wood to break down.
The sad part of this was the wood was out 2-3 months before the right screws and nails were out which is costing people alot of money now
