Newest additions to my tank! PPE/RPE

Well i've been hunting for a PPE frag for sometime locally. Finally hooked up with a guy kind enough to frag me a polyp and he even threw in some RPE. The PPE expelled some zoox after the FW dip, i think thats why there are some green dots in the middle of the purple. It didn't look that way before the dip, so hopefully thats all it is. So i thought i'd share!

wow, miles! you are getting a good collection going! when that ppe grows out to fraggable size (that'll be what-- a year or two? ), i'm gonna be pm'ing you like crazy. i've never really been fond of the RPE but the pics that i saw in creetin's thread and yours here are helping to change my mind on them.

yeah, those are some nice lookin RPE's. thats the "3rd morph" of RPE as discussed in creetins thread. that one is prob also my favorite
i really like the purple streaks.

Danny i'll be sure to keep you in mind on the PPE. I have to say though, the alien eyes are my favs still!!

I know what you mean Al! I really like how the streaks go out and connect to the individual tentacles on the skirt. Makes it look so cool.

SINCE we are talking about RPE and the ones posted here looks like alot of some that i have but i thought they were comman palys or something well here is the pictures not that great pics but ill try to take better today... what you think (by the way i been giving away like crazy this ones cause they grow alot and dint like them that much)

kinda hard to tell EDGRAY. they may be RPE's, or just your run of the mill MPE (miscellaneous people eater).

i have seen quite a few MPE's out there, that have just a tint of green or dark red, but are for the most part brown. half of them seem to color up into a true RPE or GPE given very strong light.

so the 70w MH, and small nano cube conditions just may not be enough to color them up into their true glory, or they could just be a common MPE that will be mostly brown.

Well mine are not brown they look like dark red and some red and well my stock light is 70W 12K MH with 2 24w Blue actinic PC but well the actinics have been there only for 1 day :lol: ..

but well so that means they are a common type then ok. so they will keep being ignored and freebies for my frag swaps :lol:

Just wanted to update. The PPE is now completely purple, it looks so cool with the deep purple and green contrast.

Very nice! Where did you find the zoas (in the fourth pic down) that have a gold center, blue middle circle, then orange/red lashes? I've been looking for those!

Thanks Jeff! I got those from a local guy in my club, let me know and i'll pm you his name here at RC. They actually used to be completely yellow in the center, i liked them better before they changed. Here is a pic when i first got them.
