Newly redesigned Nano Cube?

I was looking at buying a Nano Cube which it states on marinedepot.com is newly redesigned. I saw it on amazon.com with a stand for only $20 more so I was going to just do that but I am unsure whether the one on amazon is the newly redesigned model, and if it even matters at all?

Well Dr. Foster and Smiths has the Tank & Stand for $20 more than Marine Depot sells just the tank for.
The Amazon seller would have a higher shipping charge than Dr. Foster and Smith.

In my opinion go with the good Doctors
Not only because of price but also because of their fantastic customer service, something Marine Depot is kind of iffy on. I have never heard of the Amazon Seller (It's not Amazon, it's another company selling them through Amazon). Not worth the risk.

if you're not afraid of eBay I know of a few sellers with similar prices.


I'm about to move up from my 10G into the nanocube/biocube/aquapod world... i'm really not looking forward to researching the fine differences between the models... keep us updated on this 12g. Good luck!

I can't say about the DX models, but all of the 6g and 12g Nano Cubes that our store has sold in the past 5 months have had some kind of problems related to the ballast/electronics. I've replaced at least 6 ballasts, and I'd say around 75% of the DC fans go bad in the normal models. Not blasting your decision to get a Nanocube, as like I said, I have no experience with the build quality of the DX model, but I can tell you for a fact that the normal models are not well-constructed.

Thanks for the advice, I purchased the 12g deluxe without stand from live aquaria, seemed like a good deal. If I want the stand I'm sure I can get one from someone on here or I can always buy it online down the road. I just couldn't justify the extra $60.
