Newsletter participation

In the beginning of the year everyone was soooo gung-ho about what was going to be done for OMAS and now I am seeing little to no participation. It saddens me. I assumed that the pic contests in the newsletter would bring an overload to my computer because of all the entries yet my OMAS pic folder is very slim. Even though I love doing the newsletter and providing the fun information, I can't do it all myself. I understand people get busy but that is not an excuse (I have a family with young kids, go to school full-time, work 25-30 hours a week, keep books for our business) I understand busy, trust me! I even got no response when I asked what everyone would like to see in the newsletter, just a suggestion of possible topics...nothing. If no one is interested in the newsletter that's fine (disappointing, but fine) just tell me so I won't waste my breath hounding you all for pics and articles.

If I have offended anyone I apologize, but I needed to get that off my chest.

I will say this, for the few people who did help with the first two newsletters I greatly appreciate the help! Please don't think I don't!

I like that idea, there are alot of things that I would like to make myself, and just not sure to approach it. I'll start looking for info on the topic and if anyone would like to send me some articles that would be helpful.

How about a diy column in the news letter.

I like it Jarrod, what's your first column going to be about?

SweetFawn, YGPM on Friday. Eagerly waiting for a response :D

To bring it up a little more publicly, maybe we need to designate column writers, similar to a newspaper. This way, the load isn't on Stacy to get info and hound people. If we had a set "staff" multiple people could write, and Stacy can put it together. I know it sounds similar to what we already have, but there seems to be a lot of chaos and little dedication (besides Stacy's on going effort herself, and I truly applaud that).

Also, would it help if we decided on a theme for the monthly newsletter. For example, one month it will be about fish, another about corals, another about snails, etc, etc. At least then, we can narrow down our information to send in. I feel a few people aren't as eager to participate because the options are too broad. If we narrow it down to a specific theme, we can all hunker down with a little research.

Just some suggestions.
