All,

I am very happy to announce that the next D.A.R.C. meeting will be held Feb 9 at 1:00pm at Freddie40's (my) house Directions . All are welcome. We will be discussing lighting, water flow and all the other toys that people need (and don't need) for their reef aquarium. Discussion will focus on T5 lighting, the different bulbs that are available and what the best are for a tank.

All are welcome,

I'll bring my Aquatinics Solar Flare lighting fixture with me (6 x T5 overdriven), which also has the LED moonlight option. We can play around with different bulb combinations and the PAR meter.

Hi Dave,
Would it be possible to borrow the PAR meter to get some readings off my 250 watt metal halides. I have a Lux meter that we can also play with and compare readings. Heck I might even research the Lux and find out which readings are the best indicators of lighting. I'll PM you with my contact info.

Hello Everyone!!!!

We set up a tank again ....... Thanks to Wheresthebeach in Colorado Springs..... 120 gallon ..... We are so excited!

We hope to be there on Sat. Our son has a State spelling bee on Sat. in Co Springs and we aren't for sure how long it will last. If we get done in time we will be there!!!

Hope to see you all on Sat.

The three of us had a great time at your meeting.
I learned things about T-5 I never knew, you have a great tank and some great people in the club. The free raffle was cool!
We look forward to having some of you at our upcoming meetings and events!
Chris

Sorry we weren't back in time. Austin did win first place in the spelling bee though and now it looks like we will be going to Arizona for regionals!

See you at the next meeting!

Great and educational meeting.

Great and educational meeting.

Dave, thanks for hosting a really interesting and informative meeting. It was really interesting to be able to actually observe the different contrasts between various coral colors and T-5 bulbs.

It was amazing to actually see how just changing one bulb out of six could bring out the colors in different corals.

It was also surprising to see the difference, almost doubled, in Par values between an older T-5 bank and the NEW (not even on the market yet) - THANK"S for letting us borrow the newest T-5 Grim. By the way, Dave was really embarresed when he dropped it on the floor and I know he is sorry about the dents and scratches.

JUST KIDDING Grim he really handled it with kid gloves.

Besides all of the above, it was a great time for fellowship and I'm sure all of us DARC people enjoyed meeting the group that came up from Col. Sprgs. Sounds like they have a great club.

I know this is a little long but, Im sure a lot of people always ask what goes on at a meeting so, this is also meant to be a review of the meeting.

P.S. if you have a sweet tooth you really missed a great spread of cookies, cupcakes, cream puffs etc, plus other munchies.

Again, thanks for a great meeting Dave.
