Next Frag Swap

So since, I was not able to participate in the Frag Swap in Dixon, I was just wondering when the NEXT one will be because I am finally ready to add some Zoas to my tank?!

We are having ours the weekend after BARS.

We have not hashed out any other details as of yet.
It was brought up at our last BOG meeting that MARS has not officially done a swap in quite sometime, so we have plans to make more plans right now...

ALSO we are looking for members from the club to join our committee to tackle this task.
The BOG as a whole will not plan this event, it will be done by a sub committee, and some BOG members will be on that committee as well as other club members that volunter.

SO, let us know if you have free time to lend..

Is this a member only swap or is it open to everyone. I believe I read that the BAR swap was a closed one. After that, I really had not paid much attention. Thanks.

I am still looking at possible locations but the dates are going to be either the third or fourth weekend in February. I do not believe BAR has announced a date as of yet but we just want to be sure we don't do it on the same weekend. This one will be a lot of fun and you can sign up right at the event if need be to participate.

This is great! I know RARE and Chico reef club will be excited to hear too! Please keep us all informed!
I know Redding and Chico are back and forth trying to set one up, but none of us really have experience, and sadley compared to the big city scene we don't have a lot to make a frag swap attractive to the people with better access to good corals, so working on something really good to get you guys to make the trip up here, and feel it's worthwhile, but might take us the better part of a year to tie it all up.

What qualities should a venue have for the frag swap? Indoors (February) sounds like a good one... What else?

Thought I would bring this threar back to life.

Has there been any progress towards this? I know a lot of the way northern california club members are excited at the prospect of another frag swap.

And the Chico club and the Redding club have both discussed having a frag swap up here, so we might combine the two clubs ideas into one swap and most likely time it sometime after this one. <thinking April right now>.

So do you guys have a date, and or a place yet?

Funny you should bring this up. Lots of 411 to be shared and discussed at the Xmas party on this very topic - our northern brethren are always welcome to come on down! We still have a bit more details on the swap being ironed out now - but its definitely on (February time frame). When we have a confirmed report with all the details, it will be posted here ASAP. !Viva el swap!
