Hey guys,

I believe this is the right place to post but correct me if I'm wrong.
I run a small 5g fluval spec. I have a few corals. All are doing well and my most recent favorites are a blasto and an sps which I think is a Monti digitata.

I would like to pick up something new to try in the tank.
Current stocking is:
Clown
5 sexy shrimp
Pistol shrimp

Duncan
Toadstool
Blasto
SPS (digitata)
A small group of sympodium
Gsp
Some small colonies of zoas and mushrooms.

The digitata is doing great. Regular growth. So I want to try out a new coral but I am not sure what direction to go. I'm good with sticking to LPS but would like a sps

Thanks.

Try finding someone local with some monti cap to give away. They are hard to kill and look nice. Be careful of placement as they can take over. Best advice i can give is make some local reef friends and the frags will follow.

I'd grab something cheap and aquacultured to put in. Also, you might want to invest in some test kits if you're going to go down the SPS route. Small tanks get out of balance quickly, you'll need to stay on top of calcium and alkalinity levels if you want success with SPS. Once you figure out your consumption, you'll need to start dosing to keep your calcium and alkalinity at the proper levels.
