Next Step?

Just wondering what route to do next,

So it starts out with I suspected I had ich, (black apparently) in my tank, My clown got black spots and was itching all over the place, when I added any other fish it would eat the first day and then just start itching or would just die a couple days later, I've had numerous threads about it, but anyway I qted the clown as he was the only thing left that survived hes been in there for about 2 months, (the display) so I qted him when the "ich" appeared, now heres my question,,,,

Clowns been in the QT now about 2 - 3 Weeks, and I've been treating with copper, all the black spots have cleared up and my clown is doing very well, my display has been fishless for the same time, just my crabs snails shrimp, anemone etc, I did a 10g water change in it also, now should I,,

a. Leave the clown in the QT for a while longer, and introduce a small damsel or something into the display and see how it reacts?

b. Place the clown back into the Display, and see if all goes well, and place a small damsel into the QT to keep the ammonia cycle going,

c. Something you would suggest?!?

Thats my predicament right now and am not sure which route to go, but the guy at my LFS was telling me its about time to see if the ICH has really rid itself,

keep the clown in QT until whatever parasite you had, whatever it was, we areent sure, is dead. 6 weeks. then put the clown back in display. from there dont put a damsel in QT. Put whatever fish you wish to add next in QT, forget damsels they are BAD, BAD, BAD.

keep whatever fish you get in QT for about a month. If anythings shows up, disease...diagnose, treat, and keep there for 3 weeks AFTER illness is COMPLETELY cleared up.

add 1 fish at a time in QT. i recommend keeping QT in Hyposalinity around 1.015 specific gravity. This reduces stress, believe me, and kills parasites.

QT can run without fish no problem. i would also just EMPHASIZE patience. Slow it down a little and you will have much less death and disease.

cool thanks for the input, im debating about next fish to add, any thoughts??? currently have just a percula,,, (false) want to add something with it kind of neat.

lawnmower blennies are not colorful, but they have so much personality. if you want to go with more color, a royal gramma? coral beauty angel? flame angel? potters angel? rusty angel? but only 1 angel, and in a 30 gallon that would limit you to 1 or 2 more small fish after angel.

also,,,, about the whole QT thing, theres copper medication in there right now, when I buy the new fish should I put him in there with the copper? or no...

big NO on the snowflake. they are cool, but grow large and knock over all corals and poop so much and are messy eaters they would DESTROY your water quality. eels and reefs dont mix.

my avatar has a flame angel. they are nice, but spendy. i paid $75 for mine and got a deal (locally). i think that rusty angels are really cool, and have a beauty that most dont see, and they arent very common, and less expensive.

i personally run QT with copper for the first 2 weeks. I use a very mild brand of copper though. I use copper power, which you can easily double the recommended doseage without hurting fish. with other copper meds, be careful. I would just do HYPO for start, and if you see anything, go to copper, but HYPO should work.
