I think it probably had something to do with it, but I think as things continued to stabilize I am seeing growth everywhere. Lots of Alk/Ca noticeably being sucked up a lot more.Very nice Chuck. Did the extra lighting spur faster growth?
Tank Update in PicturesBeautiful corals and tank! Do you happen to have an overall tank picture? Whats your lighting setup if you dont mind me asking? Im starting to source equipment for my build so trying to absorb as much as I can since things have changed quite a bit in the past 14 years haha.

LOL I'm just familiar with Chuck's posts. We go way back. You're a wizard
What are you planning?Im starting to source equipment for my build
Ah gotcha hahaLOL I'm just familiar with Chuck's posts. We go way back.
A 40 breeder mixed reef kind of a budget build sort of thing as much as you can in this hobby at least. Canister filter to run media, viparspectra led lights, 2" sand bed, plenty of live rock, jebao mcp-70 gyre wavemaker, hob remora pro skimmer, and hob refugium is my plan. I've sourced the tank, and the wavemaker so far and in negotiations for most of the remaining items pending shipping price as its seemed to have sky rocketed like everything else. What are you planning?
Sounds like a nice setup. I just recently setup my first tank in over ten years. It's a 20 gallon AIO. I'm using a small skimmer and hob refugium. My build thread is linked in my signature. Good luck Nice to have you back.Ah gotcha haha

My last tank I sold off before I left for college in 2008 was a 29 gallon mixed reef. I started reefing when I was maybe 14 years old or younger. I ran a 150 watt mh with 2x65 watt pc atinics and a magnum 350 canister filter and a couple powerheads and thats it. I successfully kept all types of corals and a maxima clam for a few years before I had to let it all go so a skimmer and hob refugium will be new to me and Im still debating whether I really want/need them.
Sorry about going off topic.
I will have to take some updated pictures. I have had mostly good luck with some bad luck. Some frags just decide to go white while others grow like a weed. I am finding the ones that go white tend to be toward the top more, so maybe those particular SPS are not high light demanding coral. But overall not bad. I will get updated pictures soon. How is the tank doing Chuck?
