Nice Stuff!

Well, after more than a year of research and planning, I finally have some TBS rock in my aquarium. It has been more interesting than anything I could imagine. So far we have found 1 goby, 4 mantis shrimp, various crabs, cup corals, sponges and a ton of things I don't have a clue on. I can't wait for the second half to get here.

My only problem so far has been the mantis shrimp. Beautiful creatures, but man are they destructive. The only way I have been able to get them out is with carbonated water down their hole.

Thanks for listening, I just had to post among those who would understand. My wife and kids just think I am crazy for staring at rocks.

Here are a couple pics.

Probably a tiger goby thats the one I got and saw other people get. There pretty cool but easy to lose track of in a large tank, but when they pop up its pretty neat.

I got a tiger also . . . .

Cool little guy when he pops out of the rock.

How's your cycle going . . . . have been a little frustrated with mine?

My rock is very nice, but cycle is ticking me off.

Did you put the goby through the cycling or take him out?

Thanks

I can't find him, let alone catch him.

He's only about 1/2" long and he hides in the rock. 55# of rock and one little fish . . . not good odds for me.

If I could get him out, I don't think my other fish would be kind to him. I hope he makes it though.

I let my goby go through the cycle and he survived just fine. My cycle (almost non-existant) won't be anywhere near the typical cycle. I have a 300g and only bought the 35 gallon package. I had a ton of nice shaped rock in the tank already and didn't want too much more.
