nicely priced ID guide for sps colonies

Tenured Stick Grower
I'm looking for a book that has pix of all the most popular sps colonies for ID, that we have in our aquariums.

I cannot afford the Larger book that has been out for years, so does anyone know of something that will suffice.

Thanks

What are you looking to do?

ID to genus level? If so, I'd probably go with Borneman's Aquarium Corals book +/or Sprung's `Corals, Quick Reference' book.

To get to species-level, you're talking Veron's Corals of the World, or for Acro-specific, Wallace's `Staghorn' book. Neither cheap, neither published in the U.S. ... but if you want to ID Acropora to species [or corals in general to species - go with Veron].

If Genus is good enough - the other ones might help ... though not as detailed, complete, or with the nice photos [esp skeletal].

Mark !!! Now its appeared , funny that your even the one responding to it first... Its still not in my subscribed threads
