Niger Trigger Question...please help!

Hey all,

My friend is moving and asked me if I wanted his niger trigger, Not sure if I can take him so...could use a little help. In my 90 gallon now is a naso tang, blue tang, mated pair of maroon clowns, sailfin tang, emperor angelfish, lawnmower blenny. I also have softie's in there. I will be setting up a 125 gallon in the near future. but need to know if I can take the trigger now.

I have a niger trigger in a 75 and she is fat and happy. You should be fine.

He and the angel may battle for dominance but in a tank your size, they should each be able to establish an area without conflicting with each other

Actually I would suggest against doing it. Your tank has a fairly high bio-load as it is right now. IMO the trigger would push it over the edge.

thanks for the advice, just got a call and might be able to get my hands on a 110 tank 48x18x32 think I'll go with that one and put him in there.

Have to agree with Todd also...seems like quite a few fish that will be too big for that tank when they are full grown.

EJ that 110 gallon tank is only 48 by 18 ...its 32 inches high...that is NOT going to help with the aggression...a 125 that is 6 feet long is the minimum you should look at

Bio-Load never even ocured to me. They are right. I would not add any more fish.

Glad to finally read a thread where someone makes the wise decision and doesn't cram another super cool fish into their tank. Congrats. It's tough when the fish is as nice looking as something like a niger. Usually, threads like this all have the same responses of "that's too much bio-load," or "the fish will act unnaturally because there is not enough roaming space" and the original poster just kind of never replies. Which makes me think he said to himself "screw it, i'm adding the fish anyways."

Not me, wouldn't want to do that to the fish. I am getting another tank [110] I wish I could do a 180 or bigger but don't really have the room and my wife told me I would be swimming with the fish's...LOL I love my reef tank and I'm on the fence on either doing another reef [love the coral's] or a aggresive tank which can't really put anything else in except rock....boring, plus kinda limited to what I can put in [fish].
