niger trigger tank size

I think that tank size is fine for a Niger, but you better plan tankmates accordingly. It is not a large tank by Trigger standards, so an adult Niger could be potentially aggressive in as an adult. I would not have passive or slow fish with a Niger in that tank size.

I agree that you need to choose your tankmates accordingly. Nigers CAN get mean when they hit about six inches. Some people say they are "nice" triggers. IME that isn't so. Heck even my bluethroat acts like a trigger once in awhile and beats the crap out of the wrasse.

Triggers are triggers. Don't be surprised when your niger has your nice Aussie Harlequin Tusk pinned in the back corner afraid to come out. :uzi: Been there, done that. Several times.

Agreed....I've owned 2 for extended periods of time, my first was fine until he hit 5 inches, then he bullied a 5 inch Maroon Clown he had been coexisted peacefully with for 3 years to near death, I had to move the Clown to another tank while he healed, tried to reintroduce him and the Niger did the same thing and the Clown had to be permanently removed.

I hear too many people say Niger's are "mellow"......Little ones yes, big ones, no way.
