Niger triggers. Good bad?

The wrasse or the niger? I cant necessarily recommend either unless you have a pretty rough set of inhabitants. The wrasse was fine in my tank but they get good sized and they eat a lot, plus they swim very fast and constantly, easily spooked fish wouldnt mix well with it I dont think. Plus if it wanted to, it could go nutso easily on most fish, even my fast sohal wasnt really a match for it, the wrasse could swim circles around it.

Yikes. I have a Niger and some generally tough fish. Sounds like my Bangais would be lunch though.

My 2 nigers never bothered my bangaiis FWIW.

This thread is now making me consider picking up a Niger Trigger. A small one of course. I got some crabs I want him to kill and as long as he dosen't rearrange my tank and kill my corals or frags he and I will get along.

I meant if I got one of those Rainbow wrasse.

My Niger has been a model citizen. He is suspect #1 in the juvi BlueThroat disappearance. I also had a juvi Emperor disappear but I think the older Emp more than likely done him in.

Funny, I suspected my larger Niger was the cause of demise of mh pair of blue throats and sargassum although I never witnessed behavior. The triggers were fine and then one day, dead -save the niger.

I have a 3" niger trigger in my 90g. reef tank. so far so good, but I guess we wont know until he is much larger.
