Anyone ever notice their fish (aggressively) swimming around during the night (like they might when the lights are on)?
Recently, I've made a couple changes to the tank (over the last 4-6 weeks)...replaced my bulbs, increased flow about 25% (now about 18-20xÃ"šÃ‚¡Ã"šÃ‚¦s tank volume), and dropped the target avg temp about 1-2 degrees (to 78). About one-and-a-half to two weeks after all of the changes, I found my flame angel floating in my tank after I just saw her only 4-5 hours earlier swimming normally.
very sad about losing Disco- friendly and amazing looking flame angel. She didn't have any visible physical damage to her...
Anyways, I had noticed that the fish were generally staying behind and within the rock structures more since the changes, and I figured it was a normal acclimation process because they were still out swimming (just not as much) and were still very voracious eaters. eyes and gills looked good...their behavior was just a little off...
After I lost my flame, I checked my water parms again and no ammonia, nitrate or phosphates were detected by my salifert tests...ph and alkalinity were normal as well.
I just assumed the death was somewhat natural then- the flame was the largest I had seen in a home tank, so maybe it was an age thingÃ"šÃ‚¡Kthen last night I woke up in the middle of the night and randomly saw my lemonpeel doing acrobatic swimming moves in the current of the powerheadÃ"šÃ‚¡K.just kept doing circles and swimming about. I have never seen such aggressive swimming this late into the night.
Wondering if there is something wrong that IÃ"šÃ‚¡Ã"šÃ‚¦m not thinking about. Nothing else in the tank is sufferingÃ"šÃ‚¡Kinverts all seem fine- no noticeable deathsÃ"šÃ‚¡Kfish behavior just seems off...
Let me know if youÃ"šÃ‚¡Ã"šÃ‚¦ve heard about something like this. Thanks.
