These were shot with the halides on. Ah, the fun things you can do with exposure in camera RAW! Enjoy!

Wow...incredible images...mind sharing what your setup was? The clarity and the colors are incredible to look at. I remember seeing you post something like this a while ago but can't remember if you explained what exactly you're doing. Just curious.

Have any more?

Howdy, Adam! I don't mind at all.

I have a Canon 20D with a Canon 100mm/f2.8 macro lens. I used one of the ring flashes that has two flash mounts. The flashes were covered with the Nightsea light filters that make the flashes send just the correct wavelengths to excite flourescence. The lens itself is covered with one of the Nightsea barrier filters that excludes the blue light used to excite the flourescence so that all you see are the effects of the excitation.

These were actually my first shots with the special equipment, so I wouldn't have been the person who posted a while back.

These photos were shot in RAW format (which let's me shoot with the halides on and I just play with the exposure in Photoshop until I exclude the ambient light--very cool!). That makes focusing pretty darn simple. My shots with the halide on were much better than the shots without.

As for more: give me time. :) I have to sleep sometime. :)

Cheers!
