Nikon announces D3, D300, and new lenses

I plan on pre-ordering a D300 with the MB-D10 soon...I just hope I can be able to get in December.

Do you guys think the extra battery back add one for the D300 with the handle is worth it? Would it really help taking pictures? I know it takes faster shots.. but I've never used a PRO camera and was wondering if it was useful having that extra grip.

If you shoot a lot in portrait orientation, it's worth it.

Vertical grips are the kind of thing you may find awkward at first but then will want one on every camera you own.
