Nikon d3000

Would this camera be sufficent to take good pic's of my tank with the proper lenses? Also is it fairly easy to use? I am a NOOBIE to cameras!!

Yes, give the stickies at the top of this forum a read. Beerguy and the others in those posts do a very good job of explaining things, even bor noobs!!!

One thing though - Nikon released the D3100 this summer, so even though they discounted the D3000, for only $180 more, you get a much better camera and HD video capabilities. I'd opt for the D3100! Read Ken Rockwell's site - a lot of people dog on him, but he has pretty good information IMO. He is calling the D3000 Nikon's worst camera ever.

D3000? sure! Not the easiest/fastest Nikon to shoot manual with but it can be done.
