Nikon D3100

Hope this is the right area to post in. I'm looking at a nikon d3100 that takes 1080p video. Curious what are others experience with this camera or is there some better for the same price range?

I researched for quite a while before choosing the d3100. Good entry level camera for the price. It is Nikon or Cannon take your pick. I chose Nikon.

Thanks Gary, may I ask what macro lense u use with your 3100?

Haven't picked up any extra lenses yet but there is some good info in the stickies above.

D3100 is an impressive body, and has very good high ISO performance for a DX sensor. It doesn't have the AF motor to drive non-AFS lenses though. Another camera that impressed me was the Canon T3i.. if you get the chance, you should try both at the store and decide which layout you're more comfortable on.

XTM, thanks for the info. I will go to the store and try both out like you suggested. Does the T3i take 1080p video also?
