I purchased a Nikon D40 about 1 year ago and I recently got into taking photos. The warranty is over of course and while shooting some pics over the Thanksgiving Day weekend my flash suddenly stopped working. I am faced with 2 Options. Today/Tomorrow I will drop the camera off at a Nikon Authorized repair shop for them to diagnose the problem. Depending on the price of the fix. I can pickup a speed flash on e*bay for about 70 to 100 bucks. If the cost of the repair is more than this should I invest in that option?
USE - I've been taking a lot of photos lately and trying to learn photography from Youtube and Nikon School DVD's. I like taking pictures of my Reef and I hope that as I get better I will be able to travel and Photograph other members of my Club's reef tank. I would love to build a portfolio online to host my pictures and maybe even try to make some money on one of those sell your photo sites. I love to visit new places and I want the opportunity to capture the beautiful pictures I see in National Geographic Magazines.
