Nikon D40 Good Bad?

I am interested in getting a nikon d40, does anyone have sample pictures i can look at it (please tell me lens)

I am interested in getting one and I want to invest in something spectacular

It's an awesome camera, for the price and quality of the images combined with ease of use, can't go wrong! I love mine, I'm using the 105mm VR Macro with D40 body. Gettign ready to upgrade to the D300 in a month or so.

I consider this to be one of the best images I've captured

I had just picked up a D40 and took most of these shots of my son skydiving. There are some pictures that are not from the D40. I have a ND filter on the 55-200 mm lens.

I've been looking at some of the other models d70/50 it seems the d40 can't auto focus most lenses and and can only work well some some others...

I figure i can save some on the body by getting the d50 and have more room for lenses...

What lenses do you think i should get though, i want to mostly take marcos of fish

D40 body has not auto-focus motor. To have auto-focus you need to have it in the lens.
And for macro, if you aren't on a budget then Nikon 105mm or 60mm would get the job done very well. Sigma and Tamron make some nice macro lenses too.
