Nikon D40x

Well autofocus is nice but for macro shots you may want to manual focus anyway. I have the tamron 90mm macro on my D40 and it works great, however it would be nice to get it to autofocus. I am sure there are other nice upgrades on the d80. If you look in the middle of this page you can see the autofocus info:

I figured that manual focus would be preferred to autofocus for macro, but I also think that while I'm trying to get a macro shot, a big shark or cool school of fish may swim by and I'll want to be able to get a good shot of it too

I bought my D40X at Costo in a kit for $850 I believe. It is a versatile camera and you can do a lot with it. You will a good Macro for your tank closeups, but for the money, it's an awesome value.

I'd like to get the D80, but I think I'll probably end up w/ the D40x or D60 since I am a college student and don't really have that much to spend on the camera.
