Nikon D50 + Sigma 105mm

Hello,

I have been shooting my friends corals with my D50 and a Sigma 105mm that he purchased. I am using a tripod and I shoot straight into the tanks, never use any strange angles. Most of the pictures have been taken under T5 but there is also a metal halide I will be shooting under.

We are decently happy with the pictures but feel there is a lot of room for improvement. I'd love to hear any settings that others are having success with using this setup.

So far so good! It's actually the same combo I'm using. It's a little hard to tell, but about the only suggestion I'd have is watch your focus. It appears as though the focus is a little in front of the subject (if you look at the sand/rock), and you might have had enough room to get almost the whole subject in focus if you moved it back slightly. I struggle with the same thing myself. I really wish the viewfinder/focus was a little bigger so I had a bit better idea how the final shot was going to come out. I'm interested in the settings as well.

Not at all to pollute your thread, but here are a few I took recently (top down box). Hopefully you don't mind. I'll go back and check the settings I used so we can compare.
