Hi Guys,

I have bought this camera kit along with Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 DC EX Macro lens for just under $700. The camera itself has only 1896 autocution and body looks almost new since this camera was used as a backup only.

· Nikon D70 digital SLR camera body (firmware upgraded to 2.0)
· Nikon 18-70mm lens (f/3.5-4.5)
· Nikon 70-210mm (f/4-5.6)
· 2 x 1gb high speed compact flash
· 62mm Skylight Filter
· 67mm Skylight Filter
· 67mm Polarizing Filter
· Original box
· Original manual and instruction leaflets, software etc
· Nikon camera body cap and lens caps
· Nikon MH-18 mains battery charger
· USB cable, video cable
· 2 x Nikon Li-ion battery (EN-EL3) (No need to take a charger with you)
· Nikon battery holder (to use 3 x CR2 batteries instead of EN-EL3 above)
· Nikon ML-L3 infrared remote control
· Nikon viewfinder eyepiece
· Nikon Camera Strap
· Nikon LCD screen protective cover

If you think this kit is not suitable or could be improved to take some great macro shots of my corals then please go ahead and feel free to comment.

I'd say a decent buy all around. Out of all the lenses I think I'd appreciate the sigma the most. I don't think any of the lenses are good for macros of your tank though. Read the macro sticky above.

So!!!! I should be OK to take some good closeup pictures with this Sigma then! What do you think I should do with Nikon lenses? Should I sell them and buy another decent macro lens? If yes then what would anyone suggest as I am looking for another macro lens which could do better job than what I bought already?

I have another $600 budget for the second macro lens so please suggest what could I buy to go with Nikon D70 camera?

Ok, I guess I should explain that. The sigma won't work for macros, as it's a very wide angle lens. That's what I'm working on now, and the sigma is pretty wide. For macro you want one of the ones listed by xtm in the sticky. With the 600, you may find a used nikon 105 f/2.8 or you could get most of the others on the list new.

It sounds like you are kinda new to this, and first I'd recommend you go out and start shooting and learning about what you have. You can buy the macro, but if you don't know what you're doing with the camera it won't help. In the other stickies there's info on shooting basics. Give them a read.

Many thanks Sir...I have printed some stuff off from RC on lens sticky and now mrs wonder why do I stay on dunny for too long...lol
