Anyone using the NIKON D7000 for their reef pictures. Seriously considering getting one since a cheaper but older Canon 20d deal fell through. Input and/or pros & cons welcomed? This would be my first DSLR, I would be moving up from a Canon Powershot SX30is point and shoot

I'm currently selling my D7000. My wife is a photographer and I am her second shooter. We originally went with Nikon and I bought a D7000 and she bought A d800. Shortly after we changed our minds and switched over to Canon. Now we both use Mark2's. The D 7000 was by far my favorite camera out of all of them for it's easy button lay out, and high quality resolution for such a price. We kept it laying around as a backup camera but it was hard not to grab it for family photos. I'm not much of a coral photographer but I think this camera would do well under any circumstance.

I have one I use for documentation during mitigation jobs, I really like it. I went nikon because my local dealer is Nikon only. Try getting support from an online supplier or from a box store

Why did you guys switch to Canon?

We just switched from the Nikon D80 to the Nikon D7000 and I absoluty LOVE it. You won't be disappointed.

I just upgraded my nikon D70s to the Nikon D7000 and i looooove it go buy one quickly and dont forget the macro lens

just got a d7000 myself, love it, if you have af-d screw drive lens's it's the model you want, lotta lens choices

I also picked up a nikon 105mm macro, not sure how much I like it, I also have a nikon 60mm macro. The minimum distance is significantly farther away with the 105
