Nikon or Canon?

Looking at the Nikon D90 with 18-105mm f3.5-5.6 and a 105mm f2.8 macro.

Or a Canon 50d with a 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 and a 10mm f2.8 macro.

Opinions reasons on one over the other?

They are both great cameras and will let you take excellent pictures. The Nikon lens will provide more wide-angle options than the Canon - after allowing for the cropping effect of the sensor, the Nikon 18mm is equivalent to 27mm on a film camera while the Canon 28mm is equivalent to 45mm. So, if taking wide-angle photos is important, the Nikon choice would be better (from the two options you list). In addition, slrgear comments are more positive for the Nikon lens than the Canon. Unless you have pre-existing lens, etc., then it could be a toss-up. Make sure to go to a store and try them both - the 'feel' of the cameras may be different to you and could influence your choice.

Both of the bodies are good. The kit lenses I'm pretty luke-warm to. Both Macro lenses are great.
That is about the way I see it.
