46 gallon bowfront... lots of LR... also have hob skimmer... I am not sure if im considered a reef or fowlr.. I have 2 clowns, royal gramma and a firefish... also small brittle star and multiple crabs and snails(i took back the scooter blemmy last week to lfs as my tank is only month or so old)... I also have small frags of the following soft corals, mushroom, yellow polyps, zoas and red people eater. So would I be considered reef or fowlr?
Now main question. I tested nitrates and they are running around 5ppm.. i have been doing wwc and still cant get below 5... with what i have in the tank is 5 ok or too high? I dont have room currently for a sump.. thanks for helping..

IMO with the softies you have I think you would be fine. They like the water a bit on the "dirty" side. If they are open and have nice color I would just go with it. Good luck just my 2 cents worth.

BTW I would consider your tank a reef.

last night i noticed on two different spots of LR, a tiny and i mean tiny little white tube like thing with a red feather like thing on the end of it... when i say tiny i mean tiny... I am assuming these would be some kind of feather duster worms that hitchhiked?

1+ t Tony from above...I think you are fine as you are.. If its stable i would keep doing what you are doing.. Being the tank is only 1 month old . they could still fall or rise.. Just watch your feeding and keep any filter socks /Filter floss media clean. New tanks will go thru ups and downs as you will see in the coming months..
Consistency and Of Course being pro active if you do start to see a issue ...

Good Luck
