I recently put in a skimmer and have been doing water changes but my nitrates are still reading between 10 and 20... I want to get them to as close to zero as possible. I'm sure that they will eventually start to drop because my skimmer has only been running for less than a week.
My question is about the phosphate/nitrate absorbing packages that you can put in your tank. I hope you know what I'm talking about... I have "phos-x" made by "hagen" left over from my freshwater days and was wondering if it would be alright if I put one in my hob filter (whisper 20).
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
