No ammonia or nitrites, low nitrates?

My 20g quarantine has been cycling for about 5 weeks now, and for the last week or so it's been finishing up. In 24 hours it will go from 3 ppm ammonia to no ammonia and no nitrites. The odd thing, is that nitrates really low too. I thought my api test was bad, as it was over 2 years old. Now my new sailfert test is saying the same thing, that nitrates are about 25 ppm.

I was under the impression my nitrates should be sky high? Anyone ever seen this before?

Have you done any water changes? Likely it is fine and ready to go!

No water changes at all yet! Think it's still all good?

Drop some flake food into the tank and let it rot. See if it creates ammonia or nitrate.

If it's nitrate do a water change and go buy something to QT.

I'll give it a whirl. I've been adding ammonia daily, and I was getting nitrites off the charts for a while, so I guess maybe it's just done. Thanks! Off to buy my first ever saltwater fish tomorrow, a lawnmower blenny, haha. Excited!
